Program Information

Information

We encourage family involvement in the Girl Scout experience. Girls are welcome to sign up for events with their troops, parents or individually.

Chaperones and Payment

1. Unless otherwise noted, all girls will need adult chaperones. Individually registered girls will be placed with a larger group during the event. Girl/adult ratios from Safety-Wise should be followed.

2. If cost is listed as "cost/person," all persons attending must pay and be registered Girl Scout members. If cost is listed "cost/girl," adults do not need to pay, will not participate in the activities, and do not need to be registered Girl Scouts.

3. Permission slips and health history forms are the responsibility of chaperones. Blank health forms can be found in the Volunteer Enrichment Guide (VEG) or obtained from the Girl Scout Program Center.

Choosing Events and Registration

1. All registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and must include full payment.

2. Non-members must pay the $10 national dues, fill out a membership form, and return it at least one week prior to the event to participate.

3. Product program credit coupons and credit postcards may be used to cover all or part of the fee for any event.

4. Early registration is recommended for all events. Early registration allows the program department to add spots/dates for events that reach capacity.

Confirmations

Confirmations will include directions, what to bring, what is included in the fee, and any special instructions. When possible, confirmations will be sent via email.

Refunds

1. Full refunds will be made after the deadline only if a participant cannot be placed in a program of choice, if GSFRA cancels a program, or in the case of family or medical emergency.

2. Requests for refunds must be made in writing.

3. A credit postcard will be issued for refunds of $10 or less.

4. Refunds will not be made if a participant is sent home due to homesickness, misconduct or parental request. If sent home, transportation is to be arranged and paid for by the participant's parent/guardian.

Financial Grants

Financial grants are available to all registered members for all events. Forms are available at the Girl Scout Program Center. There is a Financial Grant Fund and a volunteer committee that facilitates the financial grant process.

Volunteer

Volunteers are needed at ALL events. Please contact us if you or someone you know is interested.

Sensitive Issues

If girls are participating in a program or kit activity that may be of a sensitive issue or nature, please refer to the Parental Permission Slip in the Volunteer Enrichment Guide (VEG) or obtain from the Girl Scout Program Center.

Deadlines

Registration deadline is two weeks prior to event date, unless otherwise noted. Waiting until the last minute to register makes planning and staffing more difficult for the council, so please register early!

Product Program

By participating in the Girl Scout Product Sale Program, girls learn and practice a variety of valuable life skills. Girls earn coupons at any recognition level, to be used for council merchandise, membership registration, council programs, camp, or STUDIO 2B destinations.
