Girl Scouts Home > Stuff To Do > Be a Reader Candy and Magazine Program

Volunteer Information

How the Program Works

Step 1: MAGAZINE, MUSIC AND BOOK ORDERS - 45% of each order's cost stays in our local Girl Scout council! Troops earn $2 for each order!

Step 2: ADDRESS BOOKLETS - This step won't cost you anything! Help girls complete their address booklets, inviting family and friends living out of town to order their favorite magazines at low prices AND support our Girl Scout council and troops. Information regarding magazines, music and books will be mailed to each person listed in the booklets. Those listed in the address booklets will NOT be placed on a mailing list.

Each returned completed address booklet (minimum of seven legible, VALID and COMPLETE addresses; names/addresses should not be duplicated) earns the troop $2.

Step 3: NUT/CANDY ITEMS - Simply complete the order form. Money is collected at the time orders are placed. Troops earn 50 cents for each item ordered.
