Registration open for 2008 spring conference, April 25-27, Naperville,
IL:
The
New Girl Scout Leadership Experience: A bold journey into the future!
Don't miss this opportunity to take your own leadership journey as you
discover one of the new leadership journeys (at every age level),
connect with other adults who share your passion, and plan to take
action as you take the learning home. Eight to ten volunteers are
needed to (a) champion the launch of the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience
in the fall of 2008 (b) take up the mantle of Juliette Gordon Low who
reminds us that the work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are
its makers. This conference has a rich offering for volunteers, whether
you focus on program, membership, adult/volunteer development, or other
areas. Volunteers will need to pay their own expenses. A selection of
team members will be made by Feb. 15. Contact Barbara Chambers at 920-734-7069,
ext. 14 or bchambers@gsfra.org
by Jan. 25.

Want to make a difference in a girl's life? Here is your chance
to help girls realize their full potential. Our volunteers are inspiring,
invaluable and have a profound effect on everyone they help. Without
volunteers, there would be no Girl Scouting!
We're looking for volunteers who represent the diversity of the
world we live in - men, women, senior citizens, younger adults,
people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and alumnae. Whether
you have an hour, a day, a weekend, or more, the energy you share
with Girl Scouts will instill in girls confidence that will last
a lifetime.

Resources
Due to the growing concern of child safety issues our council now
requires that every potential volunteer complete the attached Volunteer
Application. We realize that the information requested is of a personal
nature, but we believe that this screening process is the best way to
ensure the safety of our girls. We want to assure you that because of
the sensitive information asked for on this application, access to your
application will be very limited. Each application will be seen by only
a few staff and will be kept in a confidential file. Please complete the
Volunteer Application and return to the Girl Scouts of the Fox River Area,
Inc. in the attached envelope within the next week. Above all we want
to provide a safe and secure experience for our girls and adults.
When listing references, be sure to include the person's full name and
address with zip code. Copies of the reference form are attached to the
application.
Please note that your signature is required on the reference forms. Sign
each form and pass one copy to each of the individuals you have listed
as a reference. These should be completed and returned within one week
to the program center. Their support in quickly returning the references
will help speed up the application process.
