Alumnae

The Fox River Area Girl Scout Alumnae Group was organized in 1987 with a membership of 37. Membership for the year 2005 is over 50. The purpose of the group is:

  • to provide opportunities for adult members to meet with Girl Scout friends
  • to retain an interest in, and give support to the Girl Scout movement
  • to promote the Girl Scout image within the community

Any adult (over the age of 18) who is registered with Girl Scouts of the USA is eligible to join. All members share a common bond in Girl Scouting and enjoy the opportunity to gather with Girl Scout friends. Alumnae Group members must be registered members of Girl Scouts of the USA ($10) and pay an annual Alumnae Group membership fee ($3). This fee helps defray the cost of activities and projects. Alumnae members receive adult council mailings, invitations to special alumni events, and the benefits of national membership.

Some Alumnae Group activities from this past year included:

  • Cookie Bake at the Girl Scout Program Center
  • Camp Winnecomac and Camp Birch Trails overnights and cross country skiing
  • Museum tours and lunches in Oshkosh and Marshfield
  • Wildflower walk
