A girl can be a Girl Scout in many different ways
Troop
There are 564 Girl Scout troops within our jurisdiction. Girls can participate
in a troop at their school, church, neighborhood center, etc.
Individual
Individually registered Girl Scouts do not belong to a troop, but work
closely with a parent or other special adult in their life to learn and
grow as only a Girl Scout can. Individually registered Girl Scouts can
earn awards with the help of an adult advisor (such as a parent), as well
as participate in local/service unit activities and council-sponsored
events throughout the year.
Group
Our outreach programs serve the needs of the growing diverse populations
within our council by using innovative delivery models to bring Girl Scouting
to girls who are less likely to join through traditional means. In 2006,
686 girls were served through 32 staff-led sites.
