2008 Day Camp Programs

Open House at Camp Winnecomac
Join the camp staff at Camp Winnecomac on Saturday, June 7, from 1-2 p.m. for a brief glimpse of what camp has to offer. Kids and parents are invited to meet the counselors, ask questions and tour camp.

Camp Winnecomac is accredited through the American Camp Association (ACA). The ACA is a community of camp professionals dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults through the camp experience. Accreditation is voluntary and involves scrutiny of camp staff, facilities, safety, and risk.

Petite Picassos
June 9-11, July 14-18, Aug. 11-15
Painting, drawing, paper-màche, and designing a t-shirt are just a few of the activities planned! Take a field trip to the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum for an art class and explore their exhibits. Complete the Art to Wear Try-It.

Trail Mix

Explore your natural surroundings while learning outdoor skills. Cook over a fire, use a compass, and identify trees and plants. Test your skills on exciting hikes through beautiful Camp Winnecomac. Complete the Eco-Explorer Try-It.

Rock Stars!

Want to be as cool as Hannah Montana? Spend the week at camp dancing to the summer's hottest songs, singing along to the greatest voices, and re-creating the latest High School Musical. Sensational Sleepover

Plan your week with activities that range from art to sports and everything in between! Spend one night at camp and enjoy an evening meal cooked over the fire and a night hike with your friends. Complete the Outdoor Adventurer Try-It.

Explore the strange and fascinating world of animals! Find out the best way to take care of pets, and how you should treat animals in wildlife. Visit the Special Memories Zoo to view some of these animals in action. Complete the Animals Try-It.

Brownie Splash

Beat the heat with this program focused on getting wet! Play water games and regular games, swim two times during the week, go biking and hiking, make art projects and more! Complete the Sports and Games Try-It.

Cook it!

Crazy Cookin'

Double Trouble

Double your camp fun! Spend a couple days at Camp Winnecomac, then head to Camp Birch Trails on Wednesday! Hike, do arts and crafts, swim and boat! Complete the Camp Together Badge.

Critter Care
July 7-11, July 28-Aug. 1, Aug. 11-15
Take your love of animals to the next level! Meet animals at the Fox Valley Humane Society and see what it takes to care for our furry friends. Explore different critter-lovin' careers that you could have when you grow up! Complete parts of the Pet Care Badge.

Pony Express
June 9-13, June 23-27, June 30-July 4, July 14-18, July 21-25, July 28-Aug. 1, Aug. 11-15, Aug. 18-22
Spend your week at camp learning all about horses! Learn the parts of a horse, how to care for horses, and what's cool to wear while riding horses! Take a trip to two stables during the week to see horses in action. Help with chores, learn about the equipment, and even go on an hour long trail ride! Complete the Horse Fan Badge.

Adventurers

Climb the wall at the Oshkosh YMCA and plan a bike trip down the CE Trail with your friends! Work on your outdoor skills as you cook, camp, and go on a night hike at High Cliff State Park! Complete the Outdoor Fun Badge.

Express Yourself
June 16-20, July 21-25, Aug. 4-8
Bring out the artist in you! Design a piece of jewelry, paint a masterpiece, make your own journal, and learn how to deal with your friends and people you meet. You will receive and work from the uniquely ME! books Inside and Out and The Real Deal. Complete the Theater Badge.

Water Seekers
June 30-July 4, July 21-25, Aug. 4-8, Aug. 18-22
Have a blast splashing around in addition to other cool camp activities. While at camp, work together on the ropes course, try hitting the mark in archery, or play games in the watering hole. During the week take a trip to a pool, a lake, and Noah's Ark! Complete the Swimming Badge.

Trail Riders
June 16-20, July 7-11, Aug. 4-8
Spend one day at Wild West Coral to receive a basic riding lesson to prepare you for your trail rides at Camp Birch Trails. You will receive two trail rides at Blue Haven Stables while enjoying your 2½ day stay at CBT! You must have attended Pony Express in order to participate in this program. Complete parts of the Horse Rider Try-It.
Grade 4-7, $220

Day Sessions
Day sessions are provided so you can still fit in your time at camp. For example, if you have soccer practice, a family vacation or dance recital on Tuesday and Thursday, you can still register for camp on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sign up for one day or a bunch! Transportation is included. Have fun and participate in the fun that camp has to offer!
