General Information
Girl Scout Day Camp provides girls with opportunities to develop independence,
confidence and leadership skills. Girls have a chance to learn positive
values such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, while working
with positive adult role models. Girls build lifelong skills at camp,
while making new friends and special memories. 'Adventure' is a day camp
trademark!
Day camp is held at Camp Winnecomac in Kaukauna throughout the summer.
Camp runs 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. Girls provide their own sack
lunch for most days and choose one day to cookout with their patrol. Two
daily snacks, all materials and supplies, and bus transportation are included
in the cost of camp.
Transportation
Bus stops are arranged based on central locations throughout the council.
Due to the very large geographic area of our council, some parents may
need to drive their girls up to 20 minutes to the nearest bus stop. Parents
are welcome to transport girls to and from camp, but discounts are not
given for parents who provide their own transportation.

Open House at Camp Winnecomac
Join the camp staff at Camp Winnecomac on Saturday, June 7, from 1 - 2
p.m. for a brief glimpse of what camp has to offer. Kids and parents are
invited to meet the counselors, ask questions and tour camp.
Camp Activities/Girl Planning
All programs involve girl planning to determine what will happen during
their stay. Program descriptions give a general idea of what may happen
at camp, but girls determine the actual program content. Girls may participate
in art, nature, sports, archery, low ropes course, cooking, and singing.
All girls participate in an opening and closing ceremony where staff and
campers perform songs and skits. "Me Time" is offered during
the week to allow the girls to activities of particular interest to them.
It is important to register early for all programs as there is a capacity
for each program.
Special Needs
If your daughter requires special accommodations or has special medical
or dietary needs, contact the camp director when you register to ensure
we meet her needs.
Refund Policy
Refund requests must be made by August 31. A full refund including deposit
will be made only if a participant cannot be placed in a program of her
choice. Deposits are non-refundable in all other situations. All requests
for refunds must be made in writing and will only be considered in cases
of family or medical emergencies. Refunds will not be made if a participant
is sent home due to homesickness, misconduct or by parent request. If
a participant is sent home, transportation is to be arranged and paid
for by the parents.
Financial Grants
Financial grants are available to cover a portion of the fee for girls
who could not otherwise participate. Check the option on your registration
form to request a grant application. Girls who are not members of Girl
Scouts of the Fox River Area, Inc. should contact their own council for
financial grant information.
Earn your way to camp with the Cookie Program
By participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls can earn coupons
at any recognition level that can be used towards council merchandise,
membership registration, council programs, camp, or STUDIO 2B.
