ANNOUNCEMENTS

All Council Fall Association Meeting, save the date
An All Council Fall Association Meeting will be held on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Girl Scout Program Center. The Council Realignment Committee will be meeting again the week before, so this association meeting will be an ideal opportunity for all members to hear the latest on our realignment progress. More details regarding this meeting will be sent at a later time.

Delegates needed
We will be electing delegates for the 2007-2008 year at the Tuesday, Oct. 23 All Council Fall Association Meeting. If you are interested in serving as a delegate or alternate for this exciting year of changes, contact your Association Chair or contact the council at office@gsfra.org

Realignment updates
We want you to be as informed as possible about the realignment process. Here are some updates from the July Council Realignment Committee (CRC) meeting.

1. All of the CRC subgroups are formed and beginning to roll. As a reminder, they are:

Governance/Corp. Structure
Finance
Technology
Delivery of Services
Human Resources (with 3 sub-subgroups: Policies, Compensation and Benefits, and Organizational Structure)
Fund Development
Communications
Property
Nominating
CEO Search

There will be opportunities for volunteers to provide input via surveys and meetings throughout the realignment process.

2. Each council will add an additional person to the "Delivery of Services" subgroup, so that each council is represented by one staff member and one volunteer. Our staff member on that committee is Lisa Mengert, and our volunteer is Sharon Johnson, a board member.

3. The CRC is in the process of building a budget for realignment expenses. In the meantime, each council will submit an equal amount, to be determined by the Finance Subgroup, toward a base fund for some of the shared expenses of the CRC. Each council is covering their own costs for meeting expenses, mileage and committee telephone calls.

4. May 1 is our 'optimistic target' right now for "Day 1" of the new council. We'll check our progress as of January 1, 2008, and adjust as necessary.

5. June 28, 2008 - Lambeau Field has been reserved for a New Council Kick-off Celebration. Program and Development staff will work together to plan the event, bringing other interested staff and volunteers into the planning process. The event will include activities for girls and a donor reception.
